  • Hey Bluebird! I'm Jamie from FANDOM's Community Development team! I'm not sure if we ever asked you guys if you are interested in turning on the Discussions feature for the utaite community and migrating the Threaded Forums across as well.

In case you are unaware of the feature (which you probably are, but here's here's the spiel just in case), Discussions was introduced last year to help communities engage with users and fans. It lives in its own space on the wiki and allows users to interact with other members of the community. It is also mobile friendly and gives mobile users a chance to contribute and engage with the community, and possibly turn them into wiki editors as well. Discussions also links with our FANDOM Apps, which this community has and it allows app users to easily take part in Discussions as well. You can read more about Discussions here.

For more information on migrating forums to Discussions, you can check out this blog over on Community Central that explains everything in detail.

If you have some concerns, Discussions, and Forums can exist side-by-side in case you do not want to migrate just yet. However, eventually all Forums will be migrated over to Discussions and Forums will be sunsetted as a feature, so getting ahead of the curve is never a bad idea.

Feel free to have an open discussion with your community/admins about this, and I'm available with any questions you might have. Have a good one!

  • Hi! I'm currently working on a YouTube Battle Page on my sandbox and I've a question about Participating Groups' section.

I notice that often, the channel that upload an entry is that of the instrumental manager, and so there's no team channel. What I'm supposed to do? Link the channel where the entries are upload?

Edit: Another question, if the answer of the last question is yes, what about if there are two or more channels used?

    Thanks in advance!

    (I hope you understand me)

  • While I was adding an album in Glutan"s page, I saw unfinished looking album template even though it looked perfect when it's not in edit mode. Is there anyway to fix this?

    • Interesting - thanks for the info.

I'm not aware of changes to the VisualEditor that would have affected this on our side. Oddly, since I first looked at this, it seems like the way the editor displays this has already changed a bunch.

Would either of you be able to point me to other examples of pages showing this issue?

    • I've just checked on the editor, and it seems now, sometimes, when loading the editor on a freshly loaded page, the order is pretty jumbled up, and when closing and loading again, the order changes again.

I suppose the same happens for other uses of the album template. So for example Soraru or possibly any other page with multiple albums in this cateogry Category:Singers with Albums or Singles.

  • Hello! I noticed that some of the categories used are 'trap'? And it's even listed on the Nico Nico Dictionary that it's considered a slur in most contexts, so I've been wondering if it's possible to avoid using the term at all and instead use the ryouseirui term?

It's just that there's a lot of drama and controversy regarding that term nowadays, and I'd hate to see this wiki under fire because of it anytime in the future, and I know that quite a number of people would be uncomfortable with seeing that term being used so freely here.

    I hope my message didn't come off as hostile; and I'm sorry if I'm bothering or anything;;

And thank you for all your contributions to the Utaite Wiki! (・ิω・ิ)❤

    • Hellos, and thanks for the message!

I'm terribly sorry about the late reply m(_ _)m

About trap and ryouseirui, we use those words distinctly form each other. Trap means someone whose voice sounds of that of a different gender, and ryouseirui means the person can do both voices.

So if a boy with a very cute and high voice who is incapable of sounding manly in anyway were to be categorized it's a "trap", not "ryouseirui" as he only has a feminine voice, not both.

This is the reasoning behind the distinction, and why we haven't gotten rid of one or the other.

I don't know about any ongoing drama and controversy about the term nowadays, but I'd say that in the anime community at least, the word trap is not that controversial given the numerous (and by many beloved) trap characters featured in some anime. I couldn't think of any other word that's used in the anime community to describe a trap (except for hideyoshi for males, but that would just be weird to have as a category ^^;;;;;)

But it may be useful to rewrite the definition on Nico Nico Dictionary, though I'm not sure if my revision is alright as is ^^;;. If you have any ideas on how to clarify the definition, be sure to tell me :)

And your message was very polite by the way! :)

  • How should I go about asking that a page on this wiki be removed? I am one of the singers listed (Leelee), and am not comfortable with some of the information that is on my page, as it was posted without my knowledge (ie my birth name and birthday and past covers).

    • Hello!

Best write us a Tweet to @UtaiteWiki so that it's official. If you prefer private message on Twitter that's fine too, but I'd prefer a public tweet to us so we can have a solid proof to put on the page :)

Just mention in the tweet anything you want to have removed :)

  • Hello Bluebird,

I am LittleGirl. Some days ago I have made with another online friend, a server for utaite fans. But we're still very small. So maybe if it's possible, could there be a page or link for the discord server here? We're not doing it to gain anything from it. Just to have other people share this interest with us.

  • Hello, the youtaite Katerinu (http://utaite.wikia.com/wiki/Katerinu) seems to have changed her username/handle to "MoonNue" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0iajBdrj8Xc), should the entire page be renamed or should there just be some sorta note about it in the beginning of the article?
